Hi, I’m Kayla! An Austin-based documentary and editorial wedding photographer — mixing modern and analog photography to tell the story of your day with empathy, curiosity, and a hint of nostalgia.

Originally from Key West, FL, I grew up surrounded by beautiful scenery and a creative community, which inspired me to explore different art mediums at a young age. When people asked, “What do you want to be when you grow up?” my answer was always the same: "An artist." This passion for creativity led me to Florida State University, where I earned my BFA in Studio Art with a focus on Graphic Design and Photography.

My background in design shapes the way I approach photography. I’m constantly seeking interesting compositions and believe that the colors in your photos should be both true-to-life and timeless—capturing not just moments, but the feeling of them.

I am honored to be a member of The Friend Club and to have my work showcased in The Wed, Magnolia Rouge, Anti-Bride, Green Wedding Shoes, Style Me Pretty, The Knot Texas, Brides of Austin, Wedding Chicks, Adorn Magazine, Aisle Society, and 100 Layer Cake.

Our Story

We both studied studio art in college, but our paths didn’t cross until the fall of 2010 when a mutual friend introduced us at a dive bar. Our first date was an art show at a music venue, followed by wine around a bonfire. After graduation, we backpacked through Europe, experiencing the full spectrum of highs and lows that come with travel.

During that trip, we realized we could handle whatever life threw our way. When we returned, we packed up our lives and moved to Austin, TX, without much of a plan. The city’s vibrant pulse—its music, art, food, and the spirit of possibility—won us over quickly. Inspired by it all, I launched my photography business a decade ago.

In 2023, Max joined me on this journey, shooting his first wedding on Super 8 in Mexico. I’m endlessly grateful to have him by my side for all of life’s adventures!

FAMILY HEIRLOOMS

I've always loved flipping through my parents' old photos and hearing stories of their adventures together (yes, they rocked matching floral outfits that my grandma made for their wedding). Photography is such a wonderful way to share those priceless glimpses into the past. My goal is to tell your story in the most authentic and timeless way, creating a photo legacy that will be treasured for generations.
