Q: What is your style of photography?
My style is a combination of documentary and fine art editorial. I spend most of the wedding day capturing moments as they unfold, however, there are times when I step in and help guide the process. While putting your gown on, I may turn off the lights and move you close to a window so we get beautiful, natural light; during family portraits, I'll be organizing and making sure everyone is lined up perfectly for the photo; and during your bride and groom portraits, I'll be directing you similar to the way I did at your engagement session
Q: I would like you to shoot my wedding, how do I start the process?
First, email me via the contact form with your wedding date, venue, and any other fun details about your wedding! From there I'll send you my pricing information and we'll schedule a consultation (either in-person, phone call, or Skype). Consultations help answer any questions you may have about your wedding day and most importantly, they help us get to know each other!
Q: What is required to book you as our photographer?
A signed contract and a 30% retainer fee.
Q: What payments do you accept, and when are they due?
Cash, check, or an e-check (directly through your online invoice). The 30% retainer fee is due after signing the contract and the remaining balance is due 30 days before your big day.
Q: Do you travel for weddings?
Absolutely! As much as I love shooting at all of the beautiful Austin venues, I LOVE to travel and shoot in new locations even more! Contact me for a custom quote.
Q: Do you shoot film or digital photography?
I’m actually a hybrid photographer, which means I shoot both! There are huge benefits to both film and digital photography. Film photography has a natural and romantic vibe which is perfect for portraits. Digital photography, on the other hand, is great for the candid moments and dance party photos!
Q: Do I get the high-res photos and the rights to print?
Yes! Each package includes an online gallery where you can download all of your images in high resolution and you also receive the rights to print. I highly suggest ordering prints through your gallery or using a professional printing lab. Please do not use drug stores like CVS or Walmart. They will ruin the quality of your images.
Q: Are you insured?
Yes! I can provide your venue the paperwork if they need to see it.
Q: Are we allowed to share our photos on social media?
I love seeing my clients share their images on social media! I just ask that you always credit Kayla Snell Photography and please do not use any filters on the photos :)
Q: Do you shoot elopements?
Absolutely! If you are having a small intimate wedding or elopement, please contact me for special pricing.
Q: How long is the usual turnaround time?
Generally, wedding images will be uploaded to an online gallery no more than 6-8 weeks after the wedding.
Q: How many images will I receive?
I am a firm believer in quality over quantity. I strive to deliver unique images for my clients with each frame I deliver. Generally speaking, clients will receive approximately 50-100 edited images per hour of photography coverage.
Q: What cameras do you shoot with?
I shoot with top of line Canon cameras & professional grade lenses. I also use a Contax 645 medium format film camera and a 35mm Canon 1v as well.
